...like a battering ram on a silver black phantom bike!
A street-bike named desire.
The bike: A BMW R90S from 1974. Rotting away in a garage in Portugal during 20 years. Retrieved in poor conditions. The concept: A tribute to the BMW R90S.
During the project some people asked why we used such an iconic bike for a build. "Why don't you go for an original restore?" Sorry guys, our bike - our rules! Many original components were lost, so we decided to create our own parts. In aluminium and adapted directly to the bike. No Chinese aftermarket cafe racer components. All built - not bought.
The idea was simple: A homage to the original but with a sporty soul. The bike was recently admired by our good friends from Australia, the makers of Pipeburn.
Work in progress. [The story behind]
Starting in 2015 we had just in mind to recover an old motorbike which was kept in a garage for more than 20 years. But The Lord moves in mysterious ways – so do we! Our small garage project became famous and we were asked to build other bikes. One thing leads to another, we found fellow experts to work with and our long-term passion turned into a profession. This was the kick-off to a new adventure named: Oporto Motor Works. Here we are, with actual projects under contract and others on the hold.
This page is our ‘hub’ to all new projects we launch. Here you can find all related links to the bikes we build and a sneak preview on future stuff. Occasionally we expose potential basic vehicles we have available in our network. If one of those bikes attracts your attention be free to ask us for an individual build or restore.
